IPTV on Fire TV Stick: what Fire OS changes compared with other devices
The Fire TV Stick runs Fire OS, an Android variant with its own store. In practice that means you do not install a player here the way you would on a phone: you first allow unknown sources, then download the installer with Downloader, all from the remote.
The two constraints unique to this stick are its small internal storage and the Wi-Fi antenna sitting a few centimetres behind the television panel. Most of the buffering blamed on a service actually traces back to one of those two, and both are fixable without changing provider.
This site covers Amazon hardware only: the HDMI stick and the Fire TV Cube. Generic Android boxes, Tizen televisions and Apple hardware each have their own guide elsewhere, because none of the steps carry over.

What actually trips people up on an Amazon stick
Three Fire OS habits behind most of the installs that never finish.
Allowing an install outside the store
Fire OS refuses anything that did not come from Amazon's own store until you say otherwise. On recent builds, Developer Options only appears after you open Settings, My Fire TV, About and select your device name several times; permission is then granted app by app. Downloader fetches the file afterwards. Hold the voice button and dictate the address rather than pecking it out with the directional pad.
Roughly eight gigabytes, and less in practice
The Lite and the 4K carry 8 GB on board, of which about five stay free once Fire OS has taken its share; some newer 4K Max units offer more. Two players and a couple of forgotten installer files fill that quickly. A full stick stutters, refuses its own updates and closes apps the moment they open. Clear caches, remove what you no longer use, leave headroom.
Reinstalling once Fire OS has updated itself
Fire OS updates on its own schedule and sometimes switches the unknown-sources permission back off, at which point a sideloaded player simply will not start. Nothing is lost. Turn the toggle on again, reinstall through Downloader, retype the same credentials, which is why they belong in a note. The stick has no Ethernet socket either, so everything rides on Wi-Fi, and up to 4K depends on source, connection and device.
